Havasupai Falls
Havasu Falls on the Havasupai Indian Reservation is a bucket list destination for many. Havasu literally translates to the blue-green water that flows through Havasu Creek. This creek is home to five waterfalls, with Havasu Falls being arguably the most scenic and popular.
The water of Havasu Creek is rich in calcium and magnesium resulting in the vibrant turquoise water. As the water flows and tumbles through the canyon, it loses calcium whos deposits form travertine dams. These dams create the many pools and cascades found along the creek.
